Mental health week 2022

Mental health week

Mental health week (8-15 October) is celebrated all around Australia, with states and territories adopting their own themes to raise awareness about individual and community mental health and wellbeing.

Given that mental health conditions affect a broad spectrum of Australians at any given time, supervisors and students should consider the likelihood that they may see clients who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition or be working alongside a person with a mental health condition as part of their multidisciplinary team.

In the Practice Context:  Mental health section of the ClinEdAus website, users can:

  • Understand the benefits of hosting student placements in mental health care settings
  • Explore the factors to consider when offering a student placement in a mental health care setting
  • Access student supervision and placement guides designed for this practice context
  • Prepare students for their placement in a mental health care setting by sharing the resources linked from the ClinEdAus website.
