Regulation, Ethics and Standards

Medical Radiation Practice includes the disciplines of Medical Imaging, Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine.

The Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) is the governing body that oversees standards, codes and guidelines for the profession, including those associated with course accreditation and registration for students.  MRBPA has adopted the Code of Conduct for registered health professionals.  All medical radiation professionals are bound by these standards and codes.

Education and Training

Accreditation of degrees in Medical Radiation disciplines is managed by the Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee

The Accreditation Standards for medical radiation practice provide guidance on the professional capabilities of medical radiation practice program graduates from medical radiation, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy and diagnostic radiography

All students enrolled in an approved course of study must be registered by their education provider before they commence study or clinical training.
